"The Food Chain" is a short film resulting from the collaboration between Capsus Films, Nöbl, and Hocus Pocus Studio.

The idea behind this collaboration was to highlight the talents of each studio through the illustration of Rishi Dastidar's dark poem.

The film takes us into a cold, dark universe haunted by a creature.

For the creation of our short film, the basic idea was simple: to showcase the expertise of our three studios.

Capsus Films was responsible for shooting stunning footage in the Pyrenees using the RED camera, Nöbl handled the writing and direction of the short, while Hocus Pocus Studio took care of the creature design, as well as all the VFX, 3D, and post-production.

In detail, we were responsible for creating the creature in 3D, from modeling to rendering, including a complex rig with the integration of fat and muscle simulations for the dragon.

We then handled the tracking and integration of the dragon into the shots, as well as all the VFX (smoke, snow details, etc.).

You thought you had the divine right to stay on the planet forever, but species come and go...
